As a lady, have you ever asked yourself this? 'Who should I date and why?' If you've not, then you should. Dating someone is like a rehearsal for the real thing, which is marriage. You can't expect to date a bad guy and automatically have a saint when you marry him. No dear. It doesn't work that way. Same for the guys. Whatever you can't handle now, you won't be able to handle when you're married. Why? It's simple. At this moment, it's easy to break promises and make mistakes that will cause you little or nothing. And ultimately there is little commitment to consider.
A person's spirituality is the most important aspect when it comes to choosing a partner in a relationship that could possibly lead to marriage. Yes! A lot of people will try to deny the fact that a true christian brother is way better than one who doesn't personally know God. But it's true. I'm not just talking about the ones who pretend to be christians but are even worse than those who are not. I'm talking about a christian brother who is not only knowledgable about the things of the spirit but also knows how to treat a woman with enough care and respect.
A non christian may have all the money, be sexually active, very romantic, very handsome and a 'big boy'. But after all these, what's next? Is that what being in a relationship all about? Is that the core foundation? Listen to this. No matter how good you think he is, without the spirit of God in him, he's absolutely nothing.
Sometimes I hear ladies say 'He's too spiritual'. Ofcourse he should be. A man who is not spiritual is like a dead man walking. He is so limited to the now. He can't see beyond his nose. He's spiritually dead. But as important as being spiritual should be, it's also imperative to be aware of the physical things going on around you. Don't be too heavenly conscious that you become earthly useless. There is time for everything.
A girl might ask 'Why should I date a christian brother?'. I'll tell you why. Firstly, he knows that hitting a woman offends God and he won't do it. Any man that has no regard for a woman he claims to love has no regard for God. Again, a true christian brother is truthful and faithful. Bad habits like drinking and smoking won't be a problem because he knows these things offend God and he won't do them. Arguments and misunderstanding will be dealt with maturedly and biblically.
Most importantly, a true christian brother will have the spirit of God in him. And anybody with the spirit of God in him is a million times better than ten million people without the spirit of God in them. So ladies, before you look out for his physique and looks, ask yourself one question. Does he have the spirit of God in him? Or is he just a normal guy?
